Critical illnesses
Critical illnesses (CI) not only affect the individual diagnosed but also have a profound impact on their entire family. The person requiring care often depends on family members or friends for assistance with various tasks, such as attending hospital appointments and receiving care at home. Consequently, the caregiver may also face a loss of income, compounding the financial strain.

The ramifications of a critical illness can be life-changing. For instance, someone who suffers a stroke and becomes paralyzed in one limb will face a long-term disability.
